Are you finding it difficult to love?

The truth is that it is not just difficult to love one another; it is impossible in our flesh! The only way for us to display true self-giving, self-sacrificing type of love is by the Spirit living and controlling our lives. Galatians 5:22 states, "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control...... if we live by the Spirit, we must also follow the Spirit. We must not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another." (vs.25,26).

Every characteristic that describes love in 1 Corinthians 13 is that which the Holy Spirit produces in our lives when we are yielded to Him. If we walk in the flesh, we are doing only what our flesh can produce which is harmful; but if we walk in the Spirit, we are doing what only the Spirit of God can produce which is healing and edifying.

Lifestyle Application - Today as I practice the 'Love Dare' I will do so by trusting and yielding myself to the Spirit of God. In my flesh there dwells no good thing, so I will depend on the presence of the Spirit to love.

Prayer - Spirit of the living God, fall fresh on me! Melt me! Mold me! Make me! Use me! May your fruit of love be evident on the branches of my life. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen!
